Getting involed in grasroots football was the last thing on our minds when we first started taking the kids down to the coaching course.We seemed to end up helping out more and more each week,the coach then was allways plugging us to help set up a team.We were now helping out a lot more with the coaching as we went into winter training,inside at the carnell and the kids were begining to grow and enjoy the sessions.After 2 years on the coaching it was time to put up or shut up as to where we go from here?.We entered into the jjb soccer tournament as a learning kerb and this was when we realised we were to deep to let the kids down.We were joined by a coach who helped out and put us on the road to setting up a team ready for joining the timperley and district jfl u-9s.
We entered the TaD league u9s with us not knowing what will hit us.With all our preparations and 2 of the coaches gaining level 1 coaching badges we were nervous.D-day arrives away at Irlam Rangers,4-0 win and on our way.Home and away and still un-beaten what a start the team was free scoring and gaining confidence.Half-way through the season and only 1 defeat,a last minute goal to the eventual league winners well done Unicorn Panthers.We had 2 great battles with Timperley Villa Vikings,evens all square in both games and both teams awarded joint runners-up The second half of the season saw the tigers knocked out of the cup by some deception and down right cheating,we leaned a lot that day.The final push saw the tigers clinch runners-up with a demolition of Sporting Sale 10-0,champagne and san miguel flowed(orange 4 the players).
